Credentials

Dr. Yeatts is licensed as a psychologist by the state board of examiners in Texas and Georgia. He holds a Certificate of Professional Qualification (CPQ) in psychology from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards for licensing mobility purposes .

Education, Training, and Experience

Dr. Yeatts completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Oklahoma State University in 1988, master’s degree in forensic psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1994, and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Argosy University Dallas in 2008. Along the way, Dr. Yeatts trained formally in the following placements:

  • Pediatric Head Trauma Program, Hackensack Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ

  • Neuropsychology Department, Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation, Dallas, TX

  • Counseling Center, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX

  • Psychological and Social Services, Dallas Independent School District, Dallas, TX

Over many years, Dr. Yeatts pursued early interests and opportunities in the field, first as a psychological assistant, then as a licensed psychological associate, and later as a licensed specialist in school psychology before returning to earn his doctoral degree. He gained valuable professional experience working in a variety of settings, including general psychiatric and forensic hospitals, a university hospital detox unit, community-based training programs, and private practices. For approximately 15 years, he worked as a specialist in public school districts across Texas, including Dallas ISD, Pearland ISD, Austin ISD, San Marcos CISD, and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. He has applied psychological knowledge and skills in practice since the late 1980s and has been licensed in Texas since 1995 and in Georgia since 2023.

Professional Activities

As a scientist practitioner, Dr. Yeatts remains up-to-date on evolving professional literature and research. He continues to engage actively in research within his primary area of interest, forensic psychology. He works on collaborative projects with test authors, publishers, and other researchers of standardized measures through PsychTech Applications, LLC, which he operates separately from his private practice. As for other related activities, Dr. Yeatts attends continuing education as required for testifying experts. He maintains active memberships in local and national associations.
